When I was first brought down into the basement of Fairbanks, the art building at Oregon State University, I fell in love with the beautiful tools that were hidden away. Most students didn’t even know a letterpress was down there, much less 3 of them! I spent my last two years at the university playing and experimenting with the presses, bringing a modern use on our old typefaces, and then teaching my peers so that future students could enjoy this historical aspect of graphic design that has persisted into modern day.
